Not all of my time is spent training lesser creatures. I know it’s nearly impossible to comprehend, but it’s true.

I am a devout bibliophile. Some of my books have been read and reread to the point of disintegration; notes in the margins, pages dog-eared, loved beyond repair. They are the veterans of my library. Others are pristine; crisp and hardly touched because I cannot bear to break the spine. I am in love with the paper, the ink, the binding, and the smell of books. (Fuck the Kindle 2. That Silicon-Valley nightmare can stay out of my sight.)

I also collect antique typewriters, calligraphy supplies and instruments, and printing materials and devices. Anything that gets ink onto paper, is something I am likely interested in and have spent a considerable amount of time learning. I always keep an eye out for new additions to my collection.

I cook, passionately and with notable skill. I was raised by Culinary Queens and have become one myself. I do not believe in dieting. I believe in the best ingredients and plenty of them. (And plenty of time spent at the gym.)

Lastly, I am a life-long fan of Fine Art, Design, and Fashion. I have a strong aesthetic sense and no small amount of training. I make a point to regularly visit galleries (some that I used to work for,) local shows and, of course, to visit museums when I travel. I have a keen eye for industrial and furniture design, textiles, and decor. I expand my wardrobe by purchasing from talented designers, both well-known and local, and firmly believe in supporting up-and-coming artists of any sort.
